Theia

Matt Wilson is very well know throughout the Lexington music scene. A popular organizer of shows, Matt Wilson has friends at any venue in Lexington. What's new from everybody's favorite event coordinator? Theia, a brand new hardcore band busting out onto the scene, that already have one well received performance under their belts.

Their debut performance was at the Tattertott Festival that was put on at Tattersall's just off of Harrodsburg road.

Watching Theia perform is a treat whether you like the way they sound or not. Matt tosses himself around the stage like a ragdoll but some how always manages to stay on his feet. The fluidity of him movement seems to contradict the sharp quickness of the guitars and basses that swing through the air, narrowly missing his head. The lead guitarist of the bad plays with a lot of heart and always seems to be in complete control of his instrument even when he appears to have lost control of everything else. What makes this band so fun to watch is the amount of energy expelled in their brief 15 minute set. If you somehow manage to lose focus and happen to be somewhere near the stage it is highly probably that Matt will literally grab you and pull you into his sonic world.

Although I enjoyed the performance of Theia I had one major issue. The rhythm guitar player. He was incredibly boring. If the music was on a CD it wouldn't be an issue, but when you're performing in front of a full house we want entertainment. If you're just going to stand their and stare off into space without acknowledging your fans or even pretending to enjoy yourself maybe you should stay inside the studio.
